Right. Piano. Because that's what we used to kill that big demon that one time. No, wait. That was a rocket launcher.

Goodbye and Good Riddance 2004: Well, I Wasn't Expecting That.

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Oh, and 2004? Don't think we've forgotten about you.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

something like that under glass to hang on the wall, something three-dimensional

Makes a lot of sense. As much as I like a good painting, I actually prefer multi-material art. Things that incorporate fabric, wood, paper, metal, whatever. Something you feel you could reach out and touch. Or walk around a little to get a different perspective. Let me know if you do do something like that, I'll pick your brains for my own projects.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

1) I got cards from Sail and Bev, and I totally forgot to mention it! I suck. Thank you!

2)

I used to know a woman who made this kind of art -- she used things like buttons, differently-textured papers, etc. It was very cool. I think the trick to those "multimedia" artworks is just having a good eye for shape and color and texture, etc., and if anyone has that kind of good eye, it's you, Deena.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Am I the only person to not be gifted with one of Sail's cards?

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

Yes! You made sense out of me. I'm happy. I will let you know. I've been mulling all kinds of things over. My eye doctor's office has a table with a raised lip. all over the top are all these cool miniatures, and buttons, all kinds of neat things, and the whole thing is covered with a polyurethane up to the lip of the outside edges. It's seriously cool and I want to do something like that, too. I just have to find or make the table. I'm a little stumped at that part.

Thank you, Steph. That's a lovely compliment.

Um, actually, both of you did. I think I need to stop while I'm ahead (or behind).

No. At least, so far.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

You may all anticipate my future posts to be peppered with Weird and Wonderful Words thanks to my secret santa, erinaceous! Along with my new-found logopandocie, I now have a notepad graced with a robot in the corner (so I can make note of all these words) and a lovely little pocket-sized, leather-bound, hand-made paper notebook (for keeping track of said words while on the move).

Thank you, erinaceous!! I've had that book on my Amazon wish list for ages. And now I have an autographed copy. Woo-hoo!

deb, I know yours got mailed yesterday morning on the way to work. Lysana, unless I got your address wrong, it should be there shortly. Yours was sent out in the batch before deb's, and Lee, Lexine and JohnSweden got theirs today and yours was in the same batch as theirs.
