Whee! I just got lovely cards from both SailAweigh and Sparky1!
'Why We Fight'
Goodbye and Good Riddance 2004: Well, I Wasn't Expecting That.
Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Oh, and 2004? Don't think we've forgotten about you.
I have a number of lovely Buffista cards which makes my holiday brighter, and fills me with guilt because I haven't sent any.
Sail - THANK YOU.... I feel bad cause I did not send out my typical cards.
Sail, thank you for the card! I didn't have your snail mail before...so one of ours is heading your way tomorrow.
t Basking.
Okay, I'm basked. I'm glad you're all enjoying the cards. I haven't done a project like this in years and it was wonderful to stretch my creative muscles again. Also, a lot of work, but worth it. I'll accept any recriprocal offerings, but don't anyone feel like they HAVE to. 'Cause, Gaia knows, I'm not sure I'm going to do it again! A blanket "Season's Greetings" in thread may be all I'm up to next year. I'll wave a pinky at everyone and sip cosmos in the bathtub while reading Deb's next book.
Sail, I saw cards at the store today that were similar in style to the ones you did. They were 99 cents each. It made me feel somehow superior to know I received one from someone who loves me. Also made me think (for JUST a teeny moment) of buying one of those and sending it back to show you I could do it too. I figured you'd know I cheated, though.
Bwah! Deena. I doubt I would have known. I think of you as a very crafty type and would have just thought, "Oh, cool, Deena does the same kind of stuff, we should trade crafting tips." Now, if I'd asked you how you achieved the 3-D effect with tinsel, you might have had a hard time explaining it.
Well, you might not have known until you turned it over and saw that it was originally 3.99 for a "HANDMADE CARD". Damn them.
I do like that kind of stuff, though, and have been thinking of doing something like that under glass to hang on the wall, something three-dimensional. If that makes any sense. (I took an extra muscle relaxer today. I feel as funny as if I were stoned. Tomorrow I will be sorry I recorded all this funny for posterity.)
msbelle! Got your goodies just fine.
Thank you!!! And have seriously happy holidays!!!

Makes a lot of sense. As much as I like a good painting, I actually prefer multi-material art. Things that incorporate fabric, wood, paper, metal, whatever. Something you feel you could reach out and touch. Or walk around a little to get a different perspective. Let me know if you do do something like that, I'll pick your brains for my own projects.
