Dude, shrift lived in my state and I first met her in Toronto.
You've got to be willing to do the work to earn the shrift.
Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Oh, and 2004? Don't think we've forgotten about you.

Well, fuck. I'm lazy, dude. I mean, I'm not even bothering to finish this damn Ph.D.
The package is mailed. The post office promised it would be delivered Monday. I will wait for much squeeing in here, then. If there is no package on Monday, I will bad-mouth the USPS more than I already do now.
I have achieved mailing. It's the only thing I've wrapped so far, but at least my Secret Santee should get her present closer to Christmukkah than Arbor Day. The way things are going, I may be sending Arbor Day cards, though.
I have an entire season of Pros. For the record.
And between work and krav, you'd have time to hang out when?
Stop trying to bogart the shrift.
You've got dibs.
Actually, shrift, I'd be lying if I said I didn't think you hated me or something for never even proposing a visit when we're so close
Oh, I don't hate you! Not at all. But I'm not exaggerating when I say that I'm clocking 10-12 hours a day plus commuting a fair distance daily on top of that, taking no lunches ever, and working many weekends. I think I've left town a whole five times this year; three conventions, one weekend stay at Lake Michigan for my sister's birthday, and one thing in Indiana for my mother's birthday.
I'm not fun when I'm this tired. And right now, I barely see my own family.
(Man, I hope I'm not busy or anything.)
Dude, now I'm hoping I don't have to punk out for some reason, because then I'll feel like even more of a jerk.
God, I was gonna visit Teppy, too, and that hasn't happened because of work. I suck.

I get social anxiety. t shrug It's a thing.
And between work and krav, you'd have time to hang out when?
...
I get social anxiety. <shrug> It's a thing.
If I'm not actually there -- no need for anxiety! It's a brilliant solution.
(OK, not the thread for it, but...Dana! Hee. I love your tag/that song)
Which series is better MI-5 or Spooks?
What ita said. Spooks *rocks*. MI-5 seems... oddly jumpy. Turns out we lost most of the B-stories and character stuff.
Not too bad a year, work-wise. Got a bonus today. And we had a hugeass potluck with more food than anyone could hope to eat. Was rather nice. Plus, I'm bringing some food home.
Huh. I seem to have wandered into Natter.
Or possibly F2F.
A couple of overdue squee's for lovely cards from Sail and Bev that came yesterday. Thank you!! Must plan numerous road trips in 2005!
Also, today I came home to a box and I'm assuming that it's from my sekrit santa. LEE! You lovely, lovely woman!
I now have all the fabulous fixings for a complete spa day at home: Oodles of bath stuff and a massage bar from Lush. Practically every type of chocolate mint candy that exists. Gourmet chocolate mint cookies. Cool plastic glasses (so I can drink and bathe AT THE SAME TIME!), AND a Nightmare Before Christmas towel/washcloth set!!!!
Those of you that read lj already know that I've requested Lee's hand in marriage. In fact, I'm down on bended knee (while eating a chocolate mint cookie) and hoping she accepts my proposal.
