I'm home! I have opened my box! I am in love with beathen!
Ok, first of all...scroll back a bit and see her responses to my "should I, or shouldn't I" along with the tag conversation. Now add that she was my seekrit santa!
Inside the big box was a beautiful gold wrapped box with a sweet Christmas card. I have discovered the beathen had an abnormal fixation with tape, by the way. In the box were the following...
A votive candle set
4 vanilla votives (yum)
A bath pillow - something I have been WANTING
A net/silk sponge
A small champagne bottle filled with vanilla bubble bath
A list pad set in a beautiful green with a fern image. Very tranquil.
While I have the house to myself, I may have to put each of these to use...a wonderfully relaxing bubble bath, with candles flickering, and then making my list of presents I still have to find.
Squeeeeeeeee! Thanks beathen, and thanks everyone who encouraged me to open my prezzie!
What a neat present, Lexine!
You're welcome, lexine!
I had so much fun trying to figure out what you wanted for Christmas and I thought "everyone loves a nice bath with candles burning all around." I had a hard time not posting when you said you got the box, though. Have fun!
I received my box yesterday! (Some slacker you are, whoever you are.) I've decided I'm not allowed to open it at least until I send mine off, which should be this weekend.
Brenda - that worked out for me - I had just gotten mine off in the post when I found out Beathen's prezzie was waiting at home for me. I just hope my giftee will like her stuff.
I got an email saying my present might be late, which is okay. I know how hectic this time of year can get. It was just easier to do the Secret Santa gift first and get it mailed. (I could've mailed it before Thanksgiving but that would have been WAY too early.)
I'm planning to get my present sent off this weekend; the main gift arrived today, but there's another, smaller piece I'll have to get together later in the week.
Yay for the First Secret Santa Present of the Season!
Am I among the first to report receiving a Secret Santa gift? Yes, I am!
And the wonderful thing I got was... a
Due South
script! Yes -- "Victoria's Secret", no less. So perfect for me -- seeing the actual script (yes, there are color-coded correction pages in it) is so damn neat!
So here's some very sincere thanks to Lysana, who rocks!
My Sekrit Santa gift went into the mail yesterday. I have all the usual nerves about how it will be received.
2004 was, overall, a good year for me, but bittersweet. My wedding happened, and I had the Buffista sixpence in my shoe. The DH and I missed the people who should have been there: both his parents, who died way too young, my grandfather who died in February at the age of 96. And there were the people who came out to tell me they wished they were there because they remembered me fondly -- including, but not limited to, the attendance lady at my old High School. Folks, I graduated in 1986 -- how is it possible that I made such an impression? But I had a great time writing her back and filling her in on the details of my life.
Babies everywhere. In the past 3 months there have been 9 babies born to friends and family. I can't even count for the whole year. Almost all of them healthy. Gus, who wasn't, now is. Instead of a minimum of three open heart surgeries, he had an experimental procedure in utero, and they expect they "might" have to do a valve replacement. Go, Gus, go!
I'm okay with 2004. I'll be hoping for good things in 2005 for all the Buffistas.
I should know by the end of the week if my Secret Santee's big present will get there before 25 December.
