Goodbye and Good Riddance 2004: Well, I Wasn't Expecting That.

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Oh, and 2004? Don't think we've forgotten about you.

What a neat present, Lexine!

Sure I went over to the Dark Side, but just to pick up a few things.

You're welcome, lexine! I had so much fun trying to figure out what you wanted for Christmas and I thought "everyone loves a nice bath with candles burning all around." I had a hard time not posting when you said you got the box, though. Have fun!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I received my box yesterday! (Some slacker you are, whoever you are.) I've decided I'm not allowed to open it at least until I send mine off, which should be this weekend.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Brenda - that worked out for me - I had just gotten mine off in the post when I found out Beathen's prezzie was waiting at home for me. I just hope my giftee will like her stuff.

Sure I went over to the Dark Side, but just to pick up a few things.

I got an email saying my present might be late, which is okay. I know how hectic this time of year can get. It was just easier to do the Secret Santa gift first and get it mailed. (I could've mailed it before Thanksgiving but that would have been WAY too early.)

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I'm planning to get my present sent off this weekend; the main gift arrived today, but there's another, smaller piece I'll have to get together later in the week.

Yay for the First Secret Santa Present of the Season!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Am I among the first to report receiving a Secret Santa gift? Yes, I am!

And the wonderful thing I got was... a Due South script! Yes -- "Victoria's Secret", no less. So perfect for me -- seeing the actual script (yes, there are color-coded correction pages in it) is so damn neat!

So here's some very sincere thanks to Lysana, who rocks!

Librarian Warlord

My Sekrit Santa gift went into the mail yesterday. I have all the usual nerves about how it will be received.

2004 was, overall, a good year for me, but bittersweet. My wedding happened, and I had the Buffista sixpence in my shoe. The DH and I missed the people who should have been there: both his parents, who died way too young, my grandfather who died in February at the age of 96. And there were the people who came out to tell me they wished they were there because they remembered me fondly -- including, but not limited to, the attendance lady at my old High School. Folks, I graduated in 1986 -- how is it possible that I made such an impression? But I had a great time writing her back and filling her in on the details of my life.

Babies everywhere. In the past 3 months there have been 9 babies born to friends and family. I can't even count for the whole year. Almost all of them healthy. Gus, who wasn't, now is. Instead of a minimum of three open heart surgeries, he had an experimental procedure in utero, and they expect they "might" have to do a valve replacement. Go, Gus, go!

I'm okay with 2004. I'll be hoping for good things in 2005 for all the Buffistas.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

I should know by the end of the week if my Secret Santee's big present will get there before 25 December.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I have all the usual nerves about how it will be received.

Are they frayed? Mine could be frayed, but I just accepted I didn't know my giftee well enough to give a gift up to my usual caliber.
