I hope you don't think that I just come over for the spells and everything. I mean, I really like just talking and hanging out with you and stuff.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Chocolate is good. I approve of chocolate.

JZ, this is where I give you That Look, and then not tell you that I can remove the stain with Dryel, but instead bring it up for years and years and years to make you feel guilty.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Boy, so that F2F? Gonna be a blast! WHOO HOO!

Do you think the rain will hurt the rutabegas?

Because books.

I'd also be willing to make an exception for a several-years-into-the-marriage fic about Shasta and Aravis, whose furiously quarrelsome loyalty I'd be happy to read more of, but it had better not be PWP.

I've long thought I would love to explore Sara Crewe's life as an adult, including her falling in love, but I always imagined it as a story *for* children, because there's no way I could write her as *sexual* being.

Herding cats for fun

The courting of Queen Susan always bothered me when I thought about how she reverted to being a little girl here in our world. So I preferred to think 'twas all well-chaperoned and that she returned to her childhood blissfully consequence-free.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

What be PWP? (I don't know RLF, either.) I'm actually someone who Googles or Wikis definitions, but I'm assuming there aren't many fannish glossaries out there.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Hello. My name is the Dread Pirate Clovis. You taunt my Jilli. Prepare to die.

...I should make it very clear that on HMS Jeeves, taunting Jilli is the kind of stuff that leads to keelhauling. Not just loss of rations or having to clean out the parrot's cage, but serious keelhauling, and being fed to crocodiles that tick. I mean, I realise that it was inadvertent and that it's not happening any more, but I still find myself wanting to commit violence. Apparently Jilli makes me want to drop my cloak on a puddle, slay dragons, and generally do swashbuckling deeds.

Do not mess with the Jilli. Even in jest. IJS. On the good ship Jeeves we're armed with things both sharp and shiny, and we have fabulous clothes. (And no scurvy, because we like lime in our G&T.) And the first rule of Jeeves Club is: Don't taunt the Jilli. The second rule of Jeeves Club is: Don't taunt the Jilli.

(The third rule of Jeeves Club is: Try not to call Pete adorable to his face. But we keep very quiet about this one.)

PWP = Porn Without Plot

RPF = Real Person Fic

eta II (just when you thought it was safe to go back in the thread) Because apparently I have no consistency to the spelling of Jilli's name. Huh. Out of character. Perhaps the Dread Pirate Clovis is dislex...dyslex...dis...a poor speller.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

absinthe

Hmmm. I'm almost out of my Verte de Fougerolles. If I ordered today, it would definitely arrive in time for the F2F....

PWP = porn without plot

RLF = real life fic (fic about actual people)

Sure to be an xpost...

Thanks for the reassurance about the F2F. I'm pretty notoriously insecure. Sometimes I'm very gregarious and other times I'm gunshy. I've been told that something about me reads as haughty and intimidating when I'm feeling shy so I'm trying to overcome that.
