Don't worry, I'm not gonna start any sword fights. I'm over that phase.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Nora, you and Tom should definitely hit Torando in the lower Haight while you're here. It's the premiere microbrew bar in the entire city, and they know all the local brewers (of which there are many) and have an excellently diverse and interesting stock on tap, which is rotated constantly. There's lots of other fun stuff to do in the Lower Haight also. In fact, Rosamunde, the upscale weenie grill is right next door to Toranado.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Rosamunde, the upscale weenie grill

So. Very. Good.

OMG. Totally, totally will be there. I've marked the post.

From an ease-of-Deb pv, I think the point to get across is that we want something beyond the usuals, so that it's not only those available, and let Lilibeth make the call, rather than asking for specifics. I'm cool with chancing it and expecting to find something new.

t points to brenda, puts on "what brenda said t-shirt", high fives brenda.

t realizes that I will be meeting brenda soon.

SQUEEE!

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I think you can also get tours of the Anchor brewery ... possibly with samples at the end.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Yes, I read this as "under my kilt". I'm a baaaaaaaad girl.

I think that we all just assumed it, really.

Deb, can you also ask for some Rose's lime juice at the bar? gimlets!

You can and they do. But that might be fairly time consuming on an F2F weekend. No wait - Nora and Tom are here extra days. So they could afford to.

Does one need a car for that? Tom may be busy with conference things, but *surely* he wouldn't mind if I pressed on and checked it out myself...

Rose's lime juice. Check. I actually know about gimlets - I read Raymond Chandler, growing up.

Not to worry; there will be a nice selection of beer.

Not worried at all. Thank you!

Heh. Nora, that's one thing about being a retired licensed caterer; I couldn't legally dispense alcohol at an event (you would not believe the flaming hoops they put you through to get a liquor license in San Francisco, with the restaurant and bar associations and unions having such a deathgrip on the industry and City Hall), but I could provide it.

So there would be fancy crystal coolers containing champagne, white wines, and local microbrews. Sierra Pale was a local favourite, back in the dot com days.
