It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

if I stay in the hotel for 4 nights, that counts as 4 "room nights"?

Yep - that's my understanding. The breakdown of the requirement is as follows:

Day Thu Fr Sat Sun

Date 5/18/06 5/19/06 5/20/06 5/21/06

Guestrooms 10 25 25 5

That works out to 65 rooms as the basic block-booking. We have to meet 60 of those to keep the rate. So, one room for four nights counts as four of the 65.

edit: Nora, don't know yet. That's one of the things I'll find out when I sit down with the hotel people.

OK, cool. Thanks, again, for doing all this stuff!

Surely a balance of reality factors, bebe, yes? Seven hours each way in a car, with Em - that wouldn't have been an issue with Jo, who was a remarkably good traveler as a baby, but I don't know about other peoples' kids. Time: how much do you have to take off, and does the idea of essentially two days of your holiday on the highway a factor?

Against cost of flying. Also a factor.

Huh.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Although, considering the drive to the airport, going through security, waiting to board, collecting baggage at the other end, and then getting from the airport to the hotel ... driving may be quicker.

And Juliana, insent.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Backflung, Toddson.

Also, Tep, insent.

Alsoalso, is any SFista interested in dinner at Helmand's on Sunday? Around 7, maybe?

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

It appears that I have our guest room back, so I can offer East Bay accomodations, pre F2F. I will be staying in SF Fri/Sat/Sun.

I live very close to the Oakland airport and am happy to provide shuttle service, though I do need to work until 2:30 on Thursday.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

MG, we might fly in and out of Oakland. We might take that guest room for Thursday night and maybe Sunday night as well, if you don't mind.

I want to fly, to be perfectly honest. So much easier. Em travels on planes well and cars ok, but it's so much easier flying. Maybe.

I can get us in and out of Oakland for less than $400.
