Oh, wow. This place looks great. Oh, I feel like a witch in a magic shop.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

YAY Sean!

Hmm, I'll have to seriously consider this B2B thing then, especially if there will be a bunch of us alternating running and walking (or just walking).

John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt

So cool! Plus we saw Johnny Depp's new square, and Aimee nearly did something quite naughty...

Seriously, I had a blast meeting up with a bunch of folks while I was in L.A. Also, everything they say about Chicken & Waffles is totally true. It's delicious!

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Aimee nearly did something quite naughty...

Yes, yes I did.

Our wings are not tired.

The race is Sunday morning, so the morning after the Prom, right?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Just to make sure all understand what you're getting into, Bay to Breakers is no ordinary race. It's a huge San Francisco thing and lots and lots of people will be doing it. There will be some serious runners. But there will also be lots of people running in costumes, or combined caterpillar costumes and people with strollers. It's sort of half race, half parade/spectacle.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Put me down for being a spectacle.

Again.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Put me down for being a spectacle.

I can guarantee that there will be dozens of women running in prom dresses and tiaras.

And probably twice as many men.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Bay to Breakers is that Saturday.

Isn't it on Sunday? Or do I have the day wrong?

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

Nope, you're right. Sunday. My brainfart, there.

and not feel guilty about all of Deb's fabulous food that we're going to be stuffing our faces with. Oh, wait, I'm sous-cheffing. I won't be able to stroll. Or maybe I'll stroll for a bit and leave early.

Heh. You'll be stuffing down the fabulous food in the hospitality suite. The food the night before, at Prom, will be provided by the hotel's Sicilian chef - not only trained in Sicilian cookery, he's actually from Sicily. Since I prefer Tuscan cooking, and since he's indicated he expects to go pleasantly mano a mano with me on the menu choices, we should have lots of nifty stuff.

Oh, and the hotel said that if the weather's good, and we want to start the prom out poolside cocktails, they can do that, and then move the whole shebang, bar and most of food, indoors for party and dancing.
