Bay to Breakers is that Saturday.
Isn't it on Sunday? Or do I have the day wrong?
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: San Francisco, May 19-21, 2006! Everything else, go here! Swag!

Nope, you're right. Sunday. My brainfart, there.
and not feel guilty about all of Deb's fabulous food that we're going to be stuffing our faces with. Oh, wait, I'm sous-cheffing. I won't be able to stroll. Or maybe I'll stroll for a bit and leave early.
Heh. You'll be stuffing down the fabulous food in the hospitality suite. The food the night before, at Prom, will be provided by the hotel's Sicilian chef - not only trained in Sicilian cookery, he's actually from Sicily. Since I prefer Tuscan cooking, and since he's indicated he expects to go pleasantly mano a mano with me on the menu choices, we should have lots of nifty stuff.
Oh, and the hotel said that if the weather's good, and we want to start the prom out poolside cocktails, they can do that, and then move the whole shebang, bar and most of food, indoors for party and dancing.
My FiL ran the B2B a couple times (as an actual competitive runner) so I'm pretty clear that it's people soup. But it's also one of those once-in-a-lifetime experiences, I think.
I also think we should adopt the natural progression from kilt + blue hair and just go as Picts, naked with blue paint.
And tiaras.
Aimee, I am all about strolling with you and the Emplette, but I'm not bringing my stroller as it's TOO FUCKING BIG. It's like the Lincoln Navigator of strollers. So it's backpack central. (This is if Mal is even with me and hasn't been kidnapped by a grandparent).

Or another Buffista. Gotta huff those sweet Buffista baby heads and eat them toes while the getting is good.
While I admire all y'all for planning to run/walk/amble B2B, nothing will pry my ass out of bed that early on a weekend/vacation.
Crazy peoples.
Yeah, Buffista Prom is the one night of the year when I drink enough to actually risk getting drunk. If I manage to stagger down to the lobby in time to do brunch with people, I consider it a victory for temperance.
Dude. The fact that I'm even staying in town while B2B is being run is a sign of "greater love hath no woman".
Because the course is far too near Chez Grabien - we live a block and a half from the Park on the north side. And we get the news coverage helicopters over our damned house at six ack emma.
Normally, we would be hightailing it out of SF that weekend. But this time, no.
The advantage of doing a race at 8am on your coast is that my body will think it is a more decent hour of 11. This gives me hope.
I think it would be a good idea not to even try to sleep until after the B2B. In fact, I might be found carrying prosecco in a plastic bottle as I meander somewhere along the race route.
8AM? Forget the kilt and tiara. I'll be marathon-sleeping.
