Inara: So, explain to me again why Zoe wasn't in the dress? Mal: Tactics, woman. Needed her in the back. 'Sides, those soft cotton dresses feel kinda nice. It's the whole... air-flow.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

iTunes actually said "you have purchased music on your ipod that's not on itunes, do you want to move it to itunes?"

Yeah, that's a new feature.

All is well that ends in pizza.

I'll try out Senuti--have you used it, Daniel?

I have. It worked well for me, to get all of my nephew's old music from the iPod he gave me into my own iTunes.

Oh, weird. Hooked up my iPod prior to trying senuti, and iTunes actually said "you have purchased music on your ipod that's not on itunes, do you want to move it to itunes?" and DID IT!

very cool

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

So, Handbrake does seem pretty straightforward to use. But 25 minutes to encode an 8 minute video? Yowch. The tutorial on iPodLounge did warn that it would probably take a very very long time, but wowza. It's going to take all day to encode Beetlejuice, drat it.

Yeah, video encoding in general is really slow.

Well bother. iTunes will play the video I encoded, no problem. But it informs me that the video will not play on the iPod, and thus has not been imported to it. Anyone have any helpful suggestions?

All I know is that the iPod requires video at a specific resolution to play. (Don't know off-hand what that resolution is.)

mr. flea has been having weekly free hours-long phone calls to France using Skype. He loves it, no hassles.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Anyone use Skype? Thoughts?

I've never tried it, but my 78 year old mom uses it all the time to talk to relatives overseas.

Also, they use my font!

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Anyone use Skype? Thoughts?

I use it to contact my family at home, and my Brazilian flatmates are on it all the time to their families. It's easy to use, usually you get a pretty good connection, and very intuitive. I like that you can also purchase call time to ring a regular phone, in addition to the free VOIP to Skype users. I wish more people used it! I miss talking to people from home.
