Basically it's the language the computer uses to talk to the printer.
If your printer is having problems with PCL6, it's best to use PCL5 or PCL5e.
Most printers will function fine with the PCL5, but the PCL6 is the newest version and still evolving.
Yeah, onto the computer or a VCD....
Thanks DCJ. On your advice, I downloaded the PCL6 and it's working perfectly so far.
This is a naive and foolish question, but does there exist a program that allows you to run SQL queries directly against an XML file, as opposed to importing the XML data into a database first?
I ask because there are many times I'd love to run an SQL query against my iTunes music collection.
They're working on something called "XQuery", which is an SQL-like language for XML. Most implementations are in the experimental stage.

Does Dell have stores? If I need the photo cartridge for the Dell Photo AIO Printer 922, is there anywhere I can get it other than their web site?
They often have kiosks in malls.
Does one run the risk of bumping into that Steve kid there?
Hmm. Crap. Now I'm all confused. I had my iPod on manual update. And then I thought "ooh, I'll just tell it to only automatically update my "Purchased Music" playlist, since that's generally where my new music is coming from anyway". And somehow, doing that meant it took away all my other playlists!! No fair!! Now I'm reupdating my iPod. Which I can't tell if that means all of my songs will be doubled. ARGH. This is not helping my hangover headache.
I did end up with doubled songs. I should have just started out with synching -- manual update also means that sometimes when I create a playlist and copy it over, it copies the song over (I'm thinking this is if I've changed a rating on the song on the iPod, or something).
My goal is to delete everything on the PC, copy it all over from the iPod, and then set up synching. But I'm wondering what this may do with the purchases music on the iPod -- will it play properly on a wiped iTunes?
I'm hoping.
