Are there any special Apple deals to troops in Iraq?

I haven't heard of any.

Remember, remember/the fifth of November/the Gunpowder Treason and Plot/I see no reason/Why Gunpowder Treason/Should ever be forgot.

Hey folks.

Just got a TiVo.

Is there any way to rip the shows off it?

Sadly? Lots of them.

Me too. And even sadder? Not all of them work...but I can't get rid of them! Ittsa disease.

Two towers, one powerbook, one iMac (on which I come to you)

one new eMac...still not with new memory, but on the way!

Hm. I wonder if the tower memory could be scavenged? Nah. That would be too easy.

eta: And one very nice studio display that would LOVE a new cheap, monitorless Mac!

etaa: Hm. I wonder if I could network the monitor to the newly memoried eMac to run two screens at once? Is that complex?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

All of my Macs work, but my Mac Portable locks up every time I try to eject a floppy. And its 30 Meg hard drive is about full. And it's one of the models without backlighting, so reading the screen demands carefull attention to room lighting.

Huh. Two of my three Macs were considered big failures in the marketplace.

Rip them off TiVo how, CaBil? Onto your computer?

I have so much cube envy. Just the sight of that design makes me squirm like that cartoon basset hound with a cookie. Mmmmhphmmmphmmph.

But the melty potential skeered me offa them.

Not to mention that no one mentioned...the weigh a ton!

But still...envy.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Hm. I wonder if the tower memory could be scavenged? Nah. That would be too easy.

Depends on what towers they are. Tell us, and we can tell you if they are compatable with anything else...

Trust my rage

I think this was clarified before, but i use izaguirres at mac dot com for AIM and it works fine. I think for non-iChat people, it shows up as a full e-mail address.

About Macs for troops - I have not heard anything specific about special deals. I have heard you can get a "government employee" discount, but have never actually tried it as there has always been a student in the family and those deals were generally better.

Daniel, Excellent offer! Thanks for the pending expertise. I'll just DO that...only not right now.

Both non-worky towers (or are they desktops at a weird angle) are buried in my storage space. I'll dig them out while I'm doing my year-end karmic clearing this weekend and report back.

But now? The pre-dawn innkeeping duties bid me to my beddy.

'night all.

Can someone who speaks printer-driver-ese explain to me the difference between an HP driver that's PCL5c and one that's PCL6? I'm very confused.
