A new profile in Firefox?

SuziQ--Session Saver is great: it reloads all the windows you left open when you last used it.

Okay now it's working.

But I have no idea why.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Firefox blew out my profile recently and had me start all over with a new default profile before it would load pages again.

But, frankly, I don't know how or why. And I am still kinda annoyed with it for that little trick. Which makes this a rather useless post for Tech.

I don't think I set-up a profile. Is this something I need to do, or does it just "happen".

Your tag here.

A default profile is created for you the first time you start up Firefox. Here's some info on managing profiles.

Argh. I just spent over an hour digging through the Mozilla help files, uninstalled, reinstalled, set up a new profile, etc etc etc.

Nothing. Something to do with the new updates has fucked it up.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Consuela, are you using Windows? Does rebooting fix the problem (at least temporarily)? If so, it could be that Firefox is not closing down correctly, and still has a process open even though you have all its windows closed. Use the Task Manager to see if there are any errant Firefox processes....
