One of the things that dissatisfied me most about using a mini day in and day out was the inability to drive dual monitors. Up until extremely recently, there was simply no way to achieve a very wide display. But then my own personal Christmas came, and I discovered the Matrox dualHead2Go. Many many posts and reviews have discussed this device since it came out. But what is it?
Simply put, this box acts as a splitter for a VGA signal. It effectively takes one VGA input, and splits each horizontal line in half, and feeds one half to one VGA output, and the other half to the (you guessed it) other VGA output. Unfortunately, according to Matrox, it's only supported under Windows. Well, I'm happy to say that this jigger works great under OSX too.
iPod Hi-Fi
I'm not loving it. I prefer the look of the Bose. Though the Bose is really not very portable.
Drew, how much would you want for your mac mini? My mom might buy it.
Is it possible to use Windows PDAs with Macs?
did you see the vidoe parody of Microsoft ipod packaging? It's pretty amusing.

Haven't thought much about it. Probably around $600. It's the 1.42 GHz with 512 MB RAM, WiFi and Bluetooth, and the DVD-R.
I do need a good bathroom music solution, though.
I still need one of these as well. Maybe one of the cheaper, smaller docks... Or waiting until someone here finds something brilliantly shiny.

I do as well. But it isn't convienent to move around much. But I wouldn't move a home stereo around either...
Yeah, I don't get the HiFi--I like the look of the Bose a little better and it's *cheaper*, which is insane (IOW, I am not about to spend enough money for the Bose, though I'm tempted, so I'm *certainly* not buying the HiFi).
I just hook my stereo up to my iBook and play iTunes through it, instead of using a CD player....
Has anyone bought a telephone/answering machine combo that they like recently? It seems like Monday's power outage/power resurgence fried my phone, and now I need to buy a new one.
No. But I have a really crappy one that works intermittently. Wanna buy it?
eta - I can't remember what brand it is but I can tell you once I get home. That way you'll know what to steer clear of, at least.
