I like money better than people. People can so rarely be exchanged for goods and/or services!

Yeah, I don't get the HiFi--I like the look of the Bose a little better and it's *cheaper*, which is insane (IOW, I am not about to spend enough money for the Bose, though I'm tempted, so I'm *certainly* not buying the HiFi).

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I just hook my stereo up to my iBook and play iTunes through it, instead of using a CD player....

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Has anyone bought a telephone/answering machine combo that they like recently? It seems like Monday's power outage/power resurgence fried my phone, and now I need to buy a new one.

I'm getting the pig!

No. But I have a really crappy one that works intermittently. Wanna buy it?

eta - I can't remember what brand it is but I can tell you once I get home. That way you'll know what to steer clear of, at least.

Yep. Well, fairly recently.

I can look it up when I get home.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Perkins, why not voicemail through your local phone service?

I thought of it, but tt's the cordless phone part that's fried, so I have to get a new phone in any case, and in the long run, it's cheaper to get a answering machine than voice mail.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I have this phone, and it's been great. We've had it for over a year, and haven't encountered any of the problems mentioned in the Amazon reviews.
