Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

MP3 player in the form of a Pez dispenser. Sadly, no candy.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

A follow-on tutorial.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I searched this thread and came up with a conversation that was had here regarding DVD players. Based on some ita recs, I just bought a Phillips 642 from Amazon.com.

Thanks thread!

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

Hey tech types, I need help (again....)

For some reason, my computer (a custom built Intel chipped PC, running XP) has stopped seeing my keyboard and mouse ports. I can get both to work by plugging them into USB adaptors and then plugging them into my USB ports, but I only have two USB ports, which leaves me unable to connect my printer and my UPS to the computer, let alone a camera.

If I want to print something out, I have to select the Print command, unplug the keyboard and plug in the printer, then click the Okay button.

Any advice on how I can diagnose and solve this problem? Get those ports working again?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I have not yet downloaded the new iTunes. Has anyone heard if/when other TV shows, etc. will be made available for download?

Also, a very 'rah! rah!' article on the video iPod and iTunes video download in the Chicago Tribune: [link]

The days when what we hear or see is pre-determined by a static program schedule are going by the wayside.

Instead consumers, more than ever before, are firmly in control of their media, choosing content that is "liquid" and can flow through multiple devices.

...

"I think this is going to be a real ground-shifter," said Carl Goodman, director of digital media at the Museum of the Moving Image in New York. "It could completely alter the relationship consumers have with their video media. If you're talking about the DVD player or the VCR, those are toast."

We'll see.

And in vaguely-related news, Comcast has once again given me a huge speed increase for my cable modem (supposedly 50% faster now).

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

If you're talking about the DVD player or the VCR, those are toast.

The VCR, maybe, but it won't be the iPod that killed it.

Our wings are not tired

So far I just see 5 shows listed. They are Lost, Desperate Housewives, Night Stalker, The Suite Life, and That's So Raven.

For both Lost and DH the entire previous season is available for download.

So, nobody owns or has any experience at all with PCs any more? It's all Macs in this thread?

We're all clueless. My thinking is the easiest fix is a cheap USB hub.
