So, nobody owns or has any experience at all with PCs any more? It's all Macs in this thread?
We're all clueless. My thinking is the easiest fix is a cheap USB hub.
I was going to suggest a USB hub, too. But I know fixing it is cheaper than buying something for it. I wish I had PC knowledge.

You might try looking for something called "device manager". I'm on a W2K box right now, I don't know where to find it in XP.
Oh, and what is the image quality/resolution of the downloaded shows? The same as the video iPod? (320x240) "VCR-quality"? What's the file size of a 44-minute TV show? And what is the viewing experience like if you watch in iTunes insteaf of on an iPod?
