Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

uh... BitTorrent 4.0.4. That's the client, right?

I know nothing, really. I shouldn't be allowed near a computer.

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

Zenkitty ... switch to Azureus ( [link] ) or ABC ( [link] )

Azureus is the better client but it uses Java and can suck up a lot of memory compared to ABC.

You then have to "open" a port to allow Bittorrent to connect. In Azureurs, goto -> Tools -> Options -> Connections, and where it says "Incoming TCP listen port" put in a port number. I use a randomly chosen port number in the 51 thousand port range, so I recommend you do the same (i.e. 51850). In ABC -> File -> Preferences -> Network -- ABC works differently to Azureus, so you have to add minimum and maximum port numbers (i.e Min 51850; Max 51950)

In Azureus, don't forget to click the "save" button at the bottom of the window once you've added the port number.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I'm sure there's a lot of extra code snarling up the works, so I'm going to take you up on your offer, Plei. Thanks so much!

No problem!

Just ship it off to me, and I'll try getting it cleaned and back to you by midweek.

Whoa, jimi. Azureus rocks. Thanks!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Does anyone know why the torrents of Rome ep 3 that I have all seem to freeze up at 99.x%? (I've tried 3, and they all do the same thing.) Is it just that not enough people have downloaded the whole thing yet?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

iPod Nano torture tests and disection: [link] (site has been Slashdotted, so it's a little slow.)

The fucking thing survived being dropped out of a car moving at 50 mph! It still continued to work after being driven over - twice! (although the display was dead at this point). The disection pictures are pretty cool too.

Also, I like the fact that iTunes knows that Dualla is black. Dualla, my iPod Nano, not Dualla from BSG, although she's black too so it all works out.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

The fucking thing survived being dropped out of a car moving at 50 mph! It still continued to work after being driven over - twice!

And yet it can be scratched if you breath on it wrong.

You lie!

(And I will continue to believe that until mine gets its first scratch.)

Actually, thanks for reminding me - it didn't come with any sort of case, so I really should get one before using it much more. Currently I've been putting it in the breast pocket of my t-shirts... that have breast pockets.

If I only had a brain...

Yo, Webistas, I got mail from a friend:

I am helping to investigate web-site statistics
monitoring software or services for Z's site, as the current service isn't entirely satisfactory. If either of you have a recommendation or have friends who have recommendations for the sort of site Z's running, it would be help Mollie out.

Can you help me look like an expert here? Is there any of us who is non-geeky enough to contract site monitoring out rather than doing it him/herself?

Does anyone here have a tablet computer or any advice on buying one? Dave is thinking about getting one eventually.
