Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
Um, have you tried manually copying the MP3 files into the Music folder, and importing them as individual files?
I know Emily ran into an album with some kind of fascist copy protection scheme that wouldn't import into her iTunes. I took it home for her, imported it as MP3s into Real Player, and copied them out for her so she could manage them.
Have you tried ripping again, using iTunes?
Tommyrot, that sounds like the easiest way to do it. What a pain, though.
Went to our lousy little Best Buy - depressing.
Would it save my tv a bit if I hooked up the cable and vcr to the 13" screen which I still have. (I thought I'd put it out in the garbage.) That way I could save the other one for the dvd player. (The vcr in the TV-VCR combo totally interferes with any dvd enjoyment.)
HELP!
I'm trying to set up my wireless network. I've got the router working, but I can't seem to connect to it via my laptop. It's automatically going to another wireless router, and I can't choose mine. What should I be trying? What do I need to tell you so you can help me?
Nebbermind. I'm giving up for tonight. I'll play with it more tomorrow.
It's automatically going to another wireless router, and I can't choose mine.
What kind of laptop?
It might be set to automatically connect to the strongest signal. If it's a Mac I can maybe help you, but I've never messed around with WiFi on a Windows maching.
VW, did you connect to it via ethernet first?
Yup. And that connection works fine. Actually, they all work fine now, but I have encryption disabled, which is *not* how I want to keep it. I've decided to mess with it more, though, when the DSL is working, since I may have to redo parts of this when I switch modems.
Any Tivo experts out there? My Tivo won't connect - I get a No DHCP Server message whether I'm using wireless or plugging it in to the network. The other day, it was also failing to pick up that the cable/router was plugged into it. Any brilliant ideas that don't involve me having to replace the fucker?
