Laurie first discovered the vulnerability when he was "mucking about with hotel TVs to get the porn channel without paying for it." He was able to bypass TV billing menus by using his laptop to tune in to the premium content being broadcast from backend systems. He didn't have to pay for the content, because the systems didn't know he was watching it.
Isn't this how the internet got started?

Apple introduces new mouse with scroll wheel:

In lieu of actual buttons beyond the scroll ball, the optical-scanning mouse has four sensors that can be programmed for multiple actions, just like the left and right buttons on many PC mouses.
Now they just need to release it in bluetooth.
I'd probably put a top and bottom "clear" disk from a spindle batch on the stacks.
And you could make a tea cozy for them to keep dust off...
I have an AVI file that I would dearly like to be able to open in FCP and convert to Quicktime so iDVD can read it. How/where does one install the xvid codec on a Mac (OSX)? (VLC plays this file just fine, btw, but I can't watch it on the TV unless I can get it onto a DVD. I suppose a VCD would work too, but I don't know if my DVD player will play one.)

You will probably also need to download DiVX: [link] to get the audio codec.
[Edit: And I just confirmed that once those codecs are installed, my Doctor Who legally obtained AVI file can be read directly by iDVD, without having to do the intermediate Quicktime conversion.]
