A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

The $5 firewire card I got last year must be six pin because I've charged FAQ Girl's iPod though it.

I don't remember the brand -- it was a dealnews deal.

Trust my rage

Just thought I'd share the following - on Friday I ordered via Apple and iPhoto some prints of digital pictures I had taken. They arrived today and look great - as if they had come from a print camera.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

FYI: MGM sent a letter to my cable internet company about me torrenting one of their shows, threatening to leverage punitive action against them if they don't sanction me next time I'm caught doing it.

Well, no more torrenting Stargate, that's for sure. I think I want to finish getting Galactica, since I'm almost done, and then I'm good for now. Thank GOD I got Spooks already -- I can wait for the rest of the stuff to air on TV.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

but do you have to tell the browser the path to the Java runtime?

Yes. I think I did so, but couldn't do it precisely as instructed, as it kept telling me there was no such file or path or directory. Perhaps I got the structure mixed up, but I tried various permutations, and did a search to ascertain that the file was where I thought it was. So, if the file was in my Desktop, the command would be ./libkitty/Desktop/blah blah blah cut and pasted from the Java site, right?

So, my laptop only has 256 megs of memory. I'm told more is good. If I want to double it, do I buy another 256 megs, or do I have to buy 512, and swap what I've got out? Is this something I can do myself, or do I have to take it somewhere to get it done? (Laptop in question=12" powerbook)

If I want to double it, do I buy another 256 megs, or do I have to buy 512, and swap what I've got out?

It depends if you've already got memory in the expansion slot. Apple System Profiler (found in the Utilities folder inside the Applications folder) can tell you that.

If the slot has a 128MB DIMM in it, you'll need to take it out and put in a 512M for 640MB total. If not, you can add a 256M or even better a 512M module.

The slot is under a little panel held on by four 00 phillips head screws. You might not have a 00 phillips head screwdriver, but otherwise the install is easy.
