I saw on Ausiello that House is casting for four new minions (two boys, two girls) AND the old three will still be around.
Moonlight: Sophia Myles has been cast.
Whew, DW Moffett replaces Brett Cullen in that SA vet story meaning that Brett Cullen is free to come back to FNL. Should that be a necessary part of the story.
Dr. Who Series 4 Casting News: Catherine Tate is set to return to the TARDIS for the complete 13 week run of Series Four of Doctor Who.
Award winning comedian Tate will reprise her role as Donna, the runaway bride from last year's Christmas special
Freema Agyeman [snip] will return to the show to join The Doctor and Donna mid series .
I was just coming here to post that, Jen.
I have to say, of all the possible companions they could have chosen, this is the one I am least excited about. She was annoying!
Are there meta reasons for Freema taking a half-season break?
yeah, i'm not thrilled in the least. she really has been my least favorite.

Mine either, although to be fair, I liked her at the end of the episode a bit, once the screeching was done. It might be nice for a year of a companion who's obviously not in love with him. Mind, I've not actually watched Season Three yet. Starts Friday!
Are there meta reasons ...
I'm sure there are, since they're obviously not getting rid of her. She'll be doing three episodes of "Torchwood" before moving back to "Dr. Who," so I imagine that's part of it. Overall, it seems they're setting up the Doctor to have some time away from romantic and pseudo-romantic entanglements.
