So, who are the main contenders for the 11th Doctor?
Now that the announcement is on the verge of happening - the list must be narrowed down quite a bit.
I mean, weren't there strong Tennant rumors prior to his announcement?

Nevermind the fact that he was an alternate u software program. I think he'd be dreamy.

That would rock like a rocking thing. However, Paterson Joseph is definitely high up there on the yum! lickable factor.
Although, your bringing up Colin Salmon brings to mind someone else from Keen Eddie who would've rocked: Julian Rhind- Tutt.

I would think that John Simm, Billie Piper and David Morrissey are ruled out by their recent associations with the show.

I don't know - that character was cool but more incidental than John Simm or Billie Piper for sure and possibly David Morrissey.
(And having played somebody who only thought he was the Doctor to have him then actually be the Doctor would be confusing.)
