"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Ah, yes, Colin Salmon. The guy should've got Bond, but would make a VERY lickable Doctor.

Clearly, I think that I should be the next Doctor.

I'd be AWESOME.

Where do I send my camaign recommendation!? If I can get it in tonight, before the press conference tomorrow, they'll surely pick you.

You would put the AWE in some. I tell you what. Funny, clever, cheeky. Yep. Fay for Doctor. That's my vote.

“Not dead yet!”

For all the same reasons, I stamp my wee foot and say "I want Colin Salmon!. Who better to be Dr. Who than Dr. Moon?!

That would rock like a rocking thing. However, Paterson Joseph is definitely high up there on the yum! lickable factor.

Although, your bringing up Colin Salmon brings to mind someone else from Keen Eddie who would've rocked: Julian Rhind- Tutt.

I could listen to that man recite the phone book.

Art Crawl!!!

I did find a story over at the BBC that mentioned these actors:

James Nesbitt
John Simm
David Morrissey
Jennifer Saunders
Billie Piper (!?!)
Catherine Zeta-Jones

as well as Paterson Joseph.

I would think that John Simm, Billie Piper and David Morrissey are ruled out by their recent associations with the show.

I would put a vote in for the guy who played Billy in Blink but I guess he would be out for the same reason as the other ones already having appeared.

Art Crawl!!!

I don't know - that character was cool but more incidental than John Simm or Billie Piper for sure and possibly David Morrissey.

(And having played somebody who only thought he was the Doctor to have him then actually be the Doctor would be confusing.)

Not necessarily, because if that was the case, then Paterson Joseph wouldn't be under such high consideration.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

They've brought on one-off actors back to play larger parts later (Gwen, Martha), so Billy wouldn't be out. Billie, however...although, Romana consciously regenerated to look like whatever-her-name-was, so it would be possible, I guess. I can't really imagine the Doctor choosing to be female, though.

I'm with sumi, though, on Morrissey.

Oh! I couldn't read the article from my phone; I didn't realize who Paterson Joseph was. In that case, I reiterate my desire for Billy. To be the next Dr. Well, and just in general. I'm trying to remember who Roderick was. CE seems like so long ago.

Oh man. I loved Keen Eddie and Julian would rock. What a great thought! Now I'm remember every ascerbic, kinky, smug, marginally clueless moment of his time on KE and transposing it into the Tardis.

Yep. That would soooo work.

Alas, I fear, he is probably too obscure/off the radar.

Sigh.

Hyh. I'm actually looking forward to the transition, whomsoever it may be. Which says a lot about my massive case of the DTs having satisfactorily resolved.
