They better not be finding anything resembling Chaka and his family, either.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I guess that's how JJ Abrams will win the suit -- he can point out that it's not a rip off because there are no Sleestaks on his show.

So I guess those rumors about Bill Lambeer doing a guest spot are unfounded.

[insert something funny here]

ABC is being sued over Lost.

Interesting...

Very odd that he's waited until now to sue though. Odd.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

It could be much higher stakes now that DVDs and international broadcasts are in the works.

Maybe the guy was in a coma for the last year and just woke up?

Actually it makes perfect sense. The show comes out of the gate with great buzz and ratings. So you wait until the show's a huge hit, and sue right at the onset of it's second season (before the onset of a sophomore year curse.)

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Having heard George R. R. Martin explain why he didn't sue Sliders over his previous failed (but quite good -- I'm talking Global Frequency good) pilot, there are a lot of factors that go into the decision... one of which was that Sliders was never so big a hit that it was financially feasible to spend major money on a winnable suit. The producers could always claim they were losing money, and offer him very little in recompense. This despite the fact that he had a very good case.

I should add -- a much, much better case than Mr. Sleestack....

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Didn't Harlan Ellison sue James Cameron over The Terminator? I can't remember if he won that suit or not (or if it was settled).

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

I think Harlan Ellison sues anybody who offers him a Kleenex. It is reflex, and part of his "the establishment sucks, unless you want to talk dollars" shtick.
