Having heard George R. R. Martin explain why he didn't sue Sliders over his previous failed (but quite good -- I'm talking Global Frequency good) pilot, there are a lot of factors that go into the decision... one of which was that Sliders was never so big a hit that it was financially feasible to spend major money on a winnable suit. The producers could always claim they were losing money, and offer him very little in recompense. This despite the fact that he had a very good case.
'Day' is a vestigial mode of time measurement based on solar cycles. It's not applicable. I didn't get you anything.

It's a spoiler because the assumption has been that if we haven't seen them on the island, they're dead. It's an upgrade of an actor to a regular (or quasi-regular) role, including new information about their liveness.
