Very odd that he's waited until now to sue though. Odd.
Actually it makes perfect sense. The show comes out of the gate with great buzz and ratings. So you wait until the show's a huge hit, and sue right at the onset of it's second season (before the onset of a sophomore year curse.)
Having heard George R. R. Martin explain why he didn't sue
Sliders
over his previous failed (but quite good -- I'm talking
Global Frequency
good) pilot, there are a lot of factors that go into the decision... one of which was that
Sliders
was never so big a hit that it was financially feasible to spend major money on a winnable suit. The producers could always claim they were losing money, and offer him very little in recompense. This despite the fact that he had a very good case.
I should add -- a much, much better case than Mr. Sleestack....
Didn't Harlan Ellison sue James Cameron over The Terminator? I can't remember if he won that suit or not (or if it was settled).
I think Harlan Ellison sues anybody who offers him a Kleenex. It is reflex, and part of his "the establishment sucks, unless you want to talk dollars" shtick.
Very large season 2 promo pic. Spoilery for the existence of a new character.
Said character is all the way on the right, so if you still want to see the pretty, don't go past Sawyer.
They're all very clean.
Except for Sayid. Bless his heart.
Dana, is that new character *really* a spoiler? Said character was in the season finale.
It's a spoiler because
the assumption has been that if we haven't seen them on the island, they're dead. It's an upgrade of an actor to a regular (or quasi-regular) role, including new information about their liveness.
