"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I'm not getting the Sawyer lurve. He's such a jerkwad, I can't see the pretty.

This.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Personally, I don't find the actor especially attractive either. He's not particularly well-built, and Sawyer's permasneer and Dirk Benedict hairdo aren't doing his face any favors.

Ah, well, there's enough pretty on the island to handle most preferences, I suspect.

This is true, it's pretty much a smorgasbord.

All is well that ends in pizza.

And we haven't even met all the contestants.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Cleolinda's recap for this episode. She's in fine form tonight.

Sawyer is an ass but I like him. Errr, I mean, I don't like him like him, like, I don't want to write down "SAWYER'n'VONNIE 4EVAH!" in my Hello Kitty notebook and secretly wish that he'd start calling me Dimples or something, but I find him entertaining in his uniquely Jackassy way. He's the Cordelia of the group, and... OK, now I have the mental image of Josh Holloway in a skin-tight fire-engine red silk ensemble like the Cordy's outfit in "The Wish", which is disturbing (and strangely intriguing) and, let's leave it at that. Also, I think "Sticks" is a kinda cool nickname for Shannon. Very "To Have And Have Not".

Art Crawl!!!

I agree that the scene in the airport was extremely touching.

I love that Sun and Jin's story is so completely different than anything that we had speculated. (At least that I have read.)

I loved Charlie and the guitar. I didn't see the white gem -- so didn't get the significance of the white and black stones.

I agree with JenP that there is no reason why they couldn't live at the caves and set watches on the Beach.

Hmmm, so we only whitefont watch and post at Boxed Set because it isn't a dedicated thread?

(I could swear that I remember whitefonting on Buffy and Angel watch and posts.)

I think it's the dimples behind the scruff. Damnit. I don't want to like him.

Basically, Vonnie speaks for me.

And I'm happy they broke up Kate & Jack, although the musical montage at the end was fairly heavy-handed, I thought -- especially the overlay of their faces. Argh. (I've been watching too many fanvids, I'm getting hip to these manipulative techniques!)

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

From Cleolinda's recap - BWAH!

and then Kate finds A MOLDERING SKELETON and she's all like AHHHH YOU GOT YOUR DEATH IN MY T&A and the skeleton is like WAHHHH YOU GOT YOUR T&A IN MY FINAL RESTING PLACE and these are not two great tastes that go together and we go to commercial.

Dude, what am I doing here? The Sox just won the World Series! I should, uh... I should be... going... to ... bed?

Yes, this. And I even had a hard time figuring how they'd get from that first flashback to the present within the episode. But they did, and I bought it. In fact, it slayed me in the end. Love that. Love.

I think I'm in Vonnie's place re: Sawyer. Sometimes the jerks make me laugh and laugh. And he does. I can't help it.

Hmmm, so we only whitefont watch and post at Boxed Set because it isn't a dedicated thread?

That's what I figured.
