::sighs::
Yeah, that tag is going to last, I think.
Why isn't Sun mad at Kate for suggesting that Sun poison Jin after she found out it also allowed Kate to get a place on the raft that she needed so badly?
Sun wasn't witness to the stuff about Kate wanting a spot on the raft. I think she took Kate's suggestion at face value as a way to help Sun.
Wasn't she there for the showdown between Sawyer and Kate?
You know, I don't know. So basically I'm just making shit up.
Or maybe I am.
Dunno, and too tired to rewatch.
Personally I thought this ep kind of blew.. but I am quite tired and cranky in general so may just be my issues. I just feel like nothing much *happened* - and sooo not in the mood for another Kate episode.
I did like Charlie's song, DeadZone!Walt, the mom freakout and at the end when everyone was looking all suspiciously at Kate. About the mom, was anyone else convinced that she was going to do some weird supernatural thing and suddenly grab Kate all Exorcist-like?
*crickets*
Ok, just me then.
My theory about Kate's crime:
In the car, she told Mackenzie that "you know why" she had to leave. I'm guessing Kate's dad/stepdad was abusive in some way, and eventually Kate snapped and offed him, then fled. It would explain what she apologized for putting mama through, and why mama was so scared of her.
Also, after Sun confessed and Jack promised he wouldn't tell the others, was anyone else thinking, "oh, yeah, not telling the others has worked WONDERFULY well so far on this island!" When are these guys going to realize that all these secrets on the island keep coming back around to bite them?
I didn't notice it on the island scenes, but the music on Kate's flashback scenes was SO a pastiche of Bernard Hermmann's (sp?) Hitchcock scores. An especially nice touch for the dye job bit a la MARNIE.
Like the episode a lot. Loved Charlie's song title, and scary-yet-concerned Walt.
Not only was this an episode about discretion, but about coming clean. People still have secrets, but they are slowly revealing things to other people (there were like, what, 3 confession scenes in a row at the end there?).
