Lost: OMGWTF POLAR BEAR
[NAFDA] This is where we talk about the show! Anything that's aired in the US (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though -- if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
Imdb has a news item today about Lost:
Touchstone Television is likely to move production of Lost out of Hawaii unless the state comes up with tax credits to keep it there, the Honolulu Star Bulletin reported Wednesday. "Nobody wants to move," Lost producer Jean Higgins told the newspaper, "but this is a business and we must consider options to cut expenses." She said that the series is currently losing $500,000 per episode. The Star Bulletin said that considerable savings could be achieved by moving production to other states on the mainland that have actively been courting producers. Ted Liu, director of the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism, said that state officials "have had many discussions with ABC about these issues and possible solutions."
I hope they don't have to move, because how the hell could they make the beach look the same without a whole lotta faking?
Hawaii should sell out to keep them! Do they want to be remembered by North Shore and the cancelled Hawaii instead?

Do what NYPD Blue has been doing for 11 years, shoot on a backlot and schedule three episodes worth of exteriors for one week a month, which they shoot on location. It would mean more Cave scenes, I bet, but it could be done. Hope not, though, as I LOVE the scenery.
I am thinking:
A) Move to Vancouver. Plus: green. Minus: no sun; too cold to prance around in bikinis.
B) Move to LA. Plus: warm and sunny. Minus: not green except in rare cases.
C) Stay there.
D) The Carolinas or Georgia might have some green beachy locations.
Except the sun would rise on the wrong side of the island!!
Actually, interesting potential plot point.

Come again?
Come again?
Shh. Don't spoil it for her.
I'd be perfectly happy for them to move the location to the Carolinas. Not that Durham would be a primo location (too many pines, not enough palms). But the South Carolina shore might be doable, and it would be within a day's drive for me.
