Except the sun would rise on the wrong side of the island!!
Actually, interesting potential plot point.

Come again?
Come again?
Shh. Don't spoil it for her.
I'd be perfectly happy for them to move the location to the Carolinas. Not that Durham would be a primo location (too many pines, not enough palms). But the South Carolina shore might be doable, and it would be within a day's drive for me.
Okay, only laugh I have had all day, and it was a good one. At Nutty's expense. (Sorry, dear.)
t Does pratfall into a cream pie in attempt to give flea at least one more laugh...
is it better to cast DDK as a kinda convincing Korean native, or someone from Japan whose Korean is fluent and casual?
Well, as you know, pet peeve, but for me it would have been optimal to cast someone who was Korean and whose Korean was fluent and casual. Except for the part where that would have meant no DDK, but still.
Being someone who is periodically annoyed to have to run through the "What are you?" gamut, I would rather have more people able to see the actual race purportedly represented, so as to promote less future "They all look the same to me"'s.
But see above, re: pet peeve, so not necessarily the best resource on said issue.
Hey.
The sun rises from over the ocean, on the east coast. On the west coast, NSM. Okay, I know, Hawaii, and it is an island, and I am sure that they actually shoot on, like, the south-facing side or something.
But the whole ocean = sunrise thing is so imprinted in my brain that California, and by extension everything west of me, is Very Different.
I am sure that they actually shoot on, like, the south-facing side or something.
Actually, they shoot on the north coast of O'ahu. Sun rises from behind their right shoulders, if they're standing on the beach looking out at the ocean.
A) Move to Vancouver. Plus: green. Minus: no sun; too cold to prance around in bikinis.
Someone over on the TVtome.com forums floated the theory that the island is actually Vancouver Island and the Polar Bears were actually albino black bears (which really do live in B.C.). He was set straight pretty quickly about Vancouver Island not being tropical and also not being deserted or remote.
Perhaps he'll be proved right, however, when the castaways are set upon by hippies, senior citizens, and politicians next week.
