Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Vonnie, why you up so late, anyway?

Because I took a three-hour nap on the couch in the early evening on account of my bodily clock being on crack, and now, I can't sleep. Plus, I'm on the last few pages of Shards of Honor and in total love with Cordelia. I was gonna go to bed soon as finish the book, but I keep getting distracted by this thread, which is shiny and full of pretty witty people and also I had quite a bit of wine. Whee! t hiccups

You spent quality Buffy-time with Laura! Jealous, am I. Really, I need to come over there so that I could meet y'all and do the Vertigo tour like Nutty and frolick with the Beast. Soon, I say! Soon!

Bag the crypto. Say what is on your mind.

I don't think we are that high on the collective fannish radar ...

This might be true. There might be fans that do not have the Buffistas stuff. They might be in the majority. See: The last election.

Well, NSM, seeing how this is my first Bujold. A few days ago, I innocently asked a few people, "So, this Miles Vorkosigan series--should I bother or what?", and like, people came running out from the virtual netspace in STAMPEDE to urge me on. And apparently Miles needs ritalin smoothies and Ivan needs to get hitched to someone stable and Gregor is a good catch. Folks had me doing FCM with the characters I haven't even met. I figured, that kind of enthusiam from so many people whose tastes I respect can't be wrong, and it wasn't, because here I am, hooked after the first book.

Wow. It's almost 3 am. Gotta hit the sack if I wanted to function at all tomorrow. I also brought work home ::groans:: but I'll think of that tomorrow. Well, today. Later.

'Night, folks!

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I do speak Korean, contrary to what I've read about me

That sentence is so weird, sad, and wrong. DDK totally needs a hug. We love you, Gavin! You were my fourth favorite W&Her!

I do hope Evangelin Lilly isn't reading TwoP, because the Kate-bashing there is a bit out of control, plus there has been tons of criticism of EL's acting there of late.

Yeah, seriously. I mean, when you're being compared to Mischa Barton....I don't think she's that bad, although she's been given some clunky lines.

I'm so glad I don't go to the big boards.

Yeah, as cool as it is that the actors post there, that format SUCKS THE BIG ONE. Plus, they're liable to spoil!

Aw, I missed Vonnie. Night, Vonnie.

See? This is why we like the Korean goils.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Someone should tell DDK about the internet criticisms of Glenn Quinn's "fake Irish accent" back when Angel first started. Apparently, there were people who thought David Boreanaz did a better job.

I think there are some very legitimate criticisms of the Kate character that have developed as the series has gone on, but IMHO the problems are arising from the writing rather than Evangeline Lily's performance.

OMG, he's posting from the FUTURE!!

So the secret is that the island is really in the far future?!? Perhaps the monster is really a giant Koala bear grown freakishly huge over the millennia, and the trees we saw thrashing bent over because it was trying to climb them and was too heavy? There is eucalyptus on the island, after all...

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

IN re: DDK's accent being "off," DH emigrated to the US when he was four. He and his parents (and eventual younger brother) always spoke their native language with each other at home, and of course integrated US terms and phrases, although they all speak fluent English. After they left, their country and others had their borders redefined, and although the country remains, the area they were from is now part of another country.

There has been a recent influx where DH works of people from his native country, and the new people were overjoyed to discover someone supposedly fluent in their primary language. Except that in the intervening decades since DH left, the language, as language does, has changed, evolved, flowed, merged and diverged. He's getting corrected on usage, pronunciation, and other fine points, as well as his accent, because the language he speaks is that of decades past.

The same could be true of DDK and his parents' accent. IJS.

Lilly was very cute on Letterman. It was fun to find out that the only speaking part she'd had on film before Lost was a 1-800 Canadian "singles meet" commercial.

Soon, I say! Soon!

Yay! ::dusts bookshelves in preparation for Vonnie!visit::

Glad you're enjoying the Bujold, Vonnie.

Speaking of accent, my friend Laura yesterday told me a story about Kendra's rasta-leprechaun accent that I found very interesting. She said that Bianca Lawson had been extensively coached in a really rare dialect spoken only by about 500 people on an island in the caribbean, and that's why it sounds so goofy to us. Dunno if it's true, and she couldn't recall where she'd heard it.

Errr, I'm offtopic. Um, did I mention that the beach they're shooting on is about 200 yards from one of the project sites for my PFH? It's very funny to see the scene and know that behind them isn't a jungle but is in fact a parking lot, a road, and an airport. Heh.

All is well that ends in pizza.

So the secret is that the island is really in the far future?!?

Maybe it's "20 minutes into the future..."

Well, MH was on ABC...

I read that too. I accepted it without question because I can be that way.

I've been skimming through the Fuselage VIP Archive. Fun, but stressful for the eyes.
