I like these too. I also like Fawkes as the Star. I think traditionally there is a peacock associated with the Star. I'll look in my tarot books later.

Random musings on not enough sleep -- What happens if a werewolf bites but doesn't kill an animal? There can't be, like, a cat werewolf, who's a cat most of the time but becomes a wolf at the full moon, right? At least, we've never seen it, and it seems like the sort of thing that would have been mentioned somewhere. So probably, if a werewolf bites an animal, it's just like any other animal bite. But what about if a werewolf bites a transformed Animagus? Has thins been addressed? IIRC, in PoA, it was pretty much said that Remus wouldn't hurt James and Sirius and Peter when they were animals, but I can't remember anything about what would happen if something went wrong and he did.

Would you be horribly cross if that ended up being incorporated into a story I'm writing? Because I love it. I know it's straying close to Peter David's rather splendid book Howling Mad (about a wolf that gets bitten by a werewolf, and turns into a man every full moon), but...I do love the idea of a catwolf. Would it retain its cattish temperament? Would it wreak havoc on one's kittycat supply? Would it be wolf sized, or more modestly built?

I'd imagine it wouldn't retain much cattish temperament, since human werewolves don't retain much of their human personalities. Although, what we've seen of werewolf behavior isn't really quite regular wolf behavior, so there could be an argument made that there's some of the human coming out, I guess -- the more violent human aspects, I guess.

I'd say that the catwolf would be more cat sized. Since, judging from the movie, anyway, a human werewolf is way bigger than a regular wolf.

Speaking of cats. My re-listen of Deathly Hallows brought up the question of Cruckshanks. What happened to the bottle-brush tailed, Whomping Willow taming, friend of Sirius?

I think I vaguely remember that...which doesn't make it any less a waste. Then again, the notion of not-particularly-extraordinary beings doing extraordinary things is rampant in the canon.

Relistening to the final battle...especially the thunk moments of Snape's ignominious death and Neville's ending Nagini are bringing me great satisfaction.
