"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

All this talk of wands and guns and amazingly no inneuendo.

Are you kidding? Harry totally mastered Draco's wand. t /Fay

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

My god, Hermione whines. "But Harry you promised you wouldn't let the Dark Lord overpower you anymore and get into your head!" Damn it, girl, you think he enjoys this? You think he doesn't remember anything unless you harp about it?

Oh God. I loved Hermione in this book, I really did, but that particular refrain got pretty irritating. HE GETS IT, HERMIONE.

On re-read I am noticing that JKR does spend a fair amount of time on wandlore even if it is still convoluted in the climax.

In THIS book, right? That was evident. What about the others?

I haven't re-read the others so I can't say. Though it doesn't seem entirely fair to bitch about the wand ass-pulling if she does give clear indication (many times over) that WANDLORE is mas importante in this book.

I don't think anyone was bitching about wand ass-pulling in general. In fact, I recall some comments (that I agreed with) to the effect that it was great that wand lore played a part in the end, given how much it was brought up over the course of the book. The bitching is about wand ass-pulling in specific. Namely, the shady ownership tactics of that devious Elder Wand.

It's kind of slutty.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

The Elder Wand practices serial monogamy.

Except when it's doing asspulls.

You can asspull in a committed relationship!

Wouldn't that be more of a push?
