This thread is a focused discussion group. Please see the first post below for the current topic and upcoming book discussions. While natter will inevitably happen, we encourage you to treat this like a virtual book club and try to keep your posts in that spirit.
By consensus, this thread is reopened specifically to discuss Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It will be closed again once that discussion has run its course.
***SPOILER ALERT***
- **Spoilers for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows lie here. Read at your own risk***
In THIS book, right? That was evident. What about the others?
I haven't re-read the others so I can't say. Though it doesn't seem entirely fair to bitch about the wand ass-pulling if she does give clear indication (many times over) that WANDLORE is mas importante in this book.
I don't think anyone was bitching about wand ass-pulling in general. In fact, I recall some comments (that I agreed with) to the effect that it was
great
that wand lore played a part in the end, given how much it was brought up over the course of the book. The bitching is about wand ass-pulling in
specific.
Namely, the shady ownership tactics of that devious Elder Wand.
The Elder Wand practices serial monogamy.
The Elder Wand practices serial monogamy.
Except when it's doing asspulls.
Except when it's doing asspulls.
You can asspull in a committed relationship!
Wouldn't that be more of a push?
Depends on whether your patronus is a hamster.
um... i think i started monitoring this thread at the wrong time....
