A place to talk about movies--Old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Donny wants to climb a tree!
(You're the tree!)
They were worried about the synch making it look fake?
Speaking of which, we were watching The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly last night.
Son: Is it just me, or is this film really, really badly lipsynched?
Weird Al wanted to do a parody of the song "Live and Let Die", called "Chicken Pot Pie", but Paul McCartney wouldn't give him permission, because of his and Linda's vegetarianism.
You know, "Tofu Pot Pie" would also scan.
Different connotations, though, I expect.
Did anyone see "We Don't Live Here Anymore"? We managed to get through half of it last night before being beaten into unconciousness by the heavy-handed symbolism and total lack of irony or a sense of humor. How does it end? I thought I could look it up on a spoiler site, but apparently tales of adultery and anomie aren't big draws. It's Dubus, so I assume somebody dies.
I think I heard it talked about here briefly, but this has some interesting cast for a Michael Bay movie.
Scarlett Johansson is gonna be this year's Jude Law, isn't she?
Huh. Clive Owen is doing a film with Jennifer Aniston. Can't quite picture them together.
but this has some interesting cast for a Michael Bay movie.
I'd give a lot to have this directed by someone else. I mean, I'll see it anyway, but ugh.
Those are both movies with interesting casts.
Obviously, I'm just killing time until I can get out of here (which is right about now) because I'm checking out the IMDb bio page of Michael Bay. [link]
1. Huh. He went to Wesleyan, Joss' alma mater.
2. He dated Jaime Bergman, a.k.a. Mrs. Boreanaz.
3. "Directing is not a job. Is more like a career. Which is great!" Uhhh, Okay.
