I've loved her ever since I first saw her in Orlando.
I don't get the Tilda love. I hated, hated, hated Orlando. And I think the only other movie I saw her in was Female Perversions, which made me almost run screaming from the theatre. I tend to avoid movies she's in because I assume they will be pretentious pieces of crap.
I think she is one of the most beautiful people ever to walk the face of the earth, and I hear she is a lovely woman, but I find her a terribly limited actress.
I just did a Google to clarify.
I think she's not good looking. Elfin, but without the good bits.
I liked her in
The Deep End,
didn't hate her in
Orlando.
Mostly I don't remember she exists.

So, I am lucky I've only ever seen one movie she's been in, plus a lot of still photos. Good to know!
Well, I'm just basing it on two...so I'm probably not being the master of rational thought.
And I'm being a liar at that because I just looked her up on IMDB, and I've seen her in Vanilla Sky, Adaptation, and Wittgenstein too. But I don't remember her in any of those.
She was in Adaptation? Huh. I liked her in The Deep End, which had the added bonus of Goran Visjnic.
Hmm. I've seen three of her movies--
Orlando, The Deep End,
and
Adaptation.
I liked all three movies and *loved* her in
The Deep End.
I thought she was marvellous, playing against type.
I should rent
Young Adam.
I have no feelings one way or the other about Tilda Swinton.
I watched
The Village
yesterday, and it took me a little while to get into it, but I ended up quite liking it. I think it helped that I knew the "twist" going in, so I didn't feel cheated by it. But I thought it was nicely atmospheric and creepy, and Bryce Dallas Howard was luminous--she reminded me more than a little of Rebecca Lizard, actually.
I went and saw The Wedding Date this afternoon. While
it did have the feared Hooker Falls in Love with a Client over one Weekend and Gives up the Biz resolution, it was at least refreshing in that it didn't have the expected comedy of errors where the big secret is constantly almost discovered, instead opting for largely grownup shenanigans. And I thought it was a nice touch that the protagonist was more broken up over betrayal by her sister than by her ex

Also, they placated my American Gigolo unlikelihood fears by having Mulroney's character make that "in my experience men who are in love don't want a prostitute" comment
