Buffista Movies 3: Panned and Scanned

A place to talk about movies--Old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

All this time, I thought Hunter was a bitch. Turns out she was just hungry.

Chris Rock hosting the Oscars on HBO would be better. And a drinkin' encouraged policy like the Golden Globes, with cameras in the bar (unlike perhaps the GGs) even better.

Uncertainty could be our guiding light.

Last night I zoned out on the couch and watched Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement. While still nowhere near as fun as the books, I thought this movie was better than the first one.

1. Less screen time from Heather Matarazzo as the best friend. Both the character and the actress bug me.

2. Julie Andrews saying "SHUT. UP!"

3. Julie Andrews sings!

Really, that's about it. I give it three stars, just for Julie Andrews being so awesome. And then I completely cheesed out and got misty during the final scene.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's really happening...

Hey. New board.

It's really happening...

ita... I'm scared...

I like PD2 a lot. I agree that it's much less fun than the books.

I saw it alone, at a matinee, with a bunch of kids around. I was this 21 year old male at a Saturday performance of an obviously kids movie. The parents in the theater kept giving me scary looks.

Also, I liked Heather M. as Lily. I thought she was great. But I can see the bug, she's a queer one.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

It's really happening...

That makes me very nervous.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I don't want to click on the link because I'm at work but I'm dying to know if there's any casting information.

No info yet. All the more room to be nervous.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Quick! I say we get the worst of the worry over with, and do some nightmare casting!

Keanu Reeves as Rorschach. Robin Williams as The Comedian. Tom Cruise as Ozymandias. Jessica Simpson as Silk Spectre II. Tom Hanks as Dr. Manhattan. John Stamos as Nite Owl.

I invite them to do worse.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I invite them to do worse.

When you've already left Carrot Top and Rob Schneider off that list? Too easy...

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

Jessica Simpson as Silk Spectre II

Julianne Moore as the original Silk Spectre.

(It's like you're not even trying hard)
