There's also a "Mulan II" that's gone straight to video. I think Disney these days is run by the same creatures who wrote "To Serve Man." "I don't know, Prt Grb, but if it gets the humans in the door, it's all good."

Buffista Movies 3: Panned and Scanned
A place to talk about movies--Old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
"So hopefully we have the spirit of the Constantinian factor," Reeves adds. "I'm always asking, 'Is that Constantinian enough?' 'I think I need more Constantine in my Constantine.'"
Say the word enough, and it loses all meaning...
Disney is remaking a live action version of Kiki's Delivery Service.
The hell?
I was prepared to give Keanu the benefit of the doubt, although yeah, someone like Clive Owen would have been much better casting, but these tidbits?
Now helmed by music video director Francis Lawrence, whose credits include the Aerosmith videos "Jaded" and "Don't Want to Miss a Thing," as well as Pink's "Just Like a Pill," Justin Timberlake's "Cry Me a River" and Britney Spear's "I'm a Slave 4 You," the film has a new look and feel.
"Constantine" is expected to fetch a PG-13 rating, therefore a lot of the darkness will likely be insinuated instead of acted out
Not very encouraging. Also, wtf?
Wouldn't it be funny, if it sucked and it wasn't even the casting's fault?
Wait, no, not funny.
Dammit.
INSINUATED DARKNESS????
They need a PG-15 rating, or something.
That should probably be in the Buffy thread, marty.
They need a PG-15 rating, or something.
Well, we knew it couldn't be entirely true to the source material without getting an NC-17, what with the prison rape and razor-spitting priests and cannibalism that popped up occasionally in the comics.
I don't know Kiki's Delivery Service. What is it? And I can't get upset about Mulan II because Disney has a long tradition of doing straight to video sequels to their big animation movies.
And of those music videos the Constantine director did, I only recognize Britney's and Justin's, but I liked both of those. And in Justin's at least, there was definitely some insinuated darkness. There was only insinuated sex in Britney's. But it was insinuated very clearly. Both were very stylish, though.
But then again, I'm not familiar with Constantine, either.
Kiki's delivery service is one of Hayao (Princess Mononoke/Spirited Away/Castle in the Sky) Miyazaki's films. I think it was the one before Mononoke, but it might have been before Castle too.
