I mean, except for the odd idea that Uma Thurman is pretty, much less prettier than Janeane, but that's not fatal.
Uma Thurman is pretty.
'Out Of Gas'
A place to talk about movies--Old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Uma Thurman is pretty.
Uma Thurman is pretty.
Not really. But she is striking.
Okay! Off to see a movie. Later, gators.
Uma Thurman is pretty.
She looks exactly like her brother if he were wearing a training bra.
I think I may have walked out of What about Bob and I've never been able to sit through all of Groundhog Day
Uma Thurman is pretty.
Is not.
I've never been able to sit through all of Groundhog Day
Well, you do get the hang of the plot after a while.
Favorite Bill Murray performances...
1) Lost in Translation
2) Lost in Translation
3) Lost in Translation
4) Lost in Translation
5) Rushmore
Sigh. Groundhog Day. t pets the DVD
The bit that just kills me is the multiple suicide sequence in the middle. Especially that slo-mo swan dive off a church. It made me cry and cry the first time around. Still sniffles when I get to that, after umpteenth viewing. Oh, and the whole card-throwing-from-bed scene. ::sniff::
5 Fave Bill Murray performances? Groundhog Day, Lost in Translation, Rushmore, Kingpin, Ghostbusters.
I gotta add Roxanne to the list of movies I always stop and see. Actually, I've a major softness for any version of Cyrano.
Roxanne is my alltime favorite Steve Martin movie. One of the best of the "small town with quirky residents" genre. Actually, it shares a lot in common with Groundhog Day, including having a rather bad actress playing the romantic female lead.

And don't forget his attempts to save the homeless guy.
OMG Zardoz. The best part of owning this is the commentary track -- basically just John Boorman going "Yeah...I don't really remember what this scene was supposed to be about...sorry..." for two and a half hours. It's AWESOME.
I bought this on DVD just for the commentary. Sadly, I was hoping it would explain what the hell he was thinking. I haven't gotten around to watching it yet (cause, hey, Zardoz, and Sean Connery in a loin cloth isn't my turn on, thought, ya know, Charlotte Rampling, growrrrrr), but this both saddens and makes me look forward to it.
Groundhog Day sucks majorly. / I liked Van Helsing. / I also enjoyed Underworld,
I suspect these three statements may have much to do with each other.
Anybody for Quick Change or What About Bob?
Love, love, LOVE Quick Change (especially the soundtrack), but I still don't think it makes my Murray top 5. One of the greatest "I hate NY" movies evah, though. Didn't like BOB because I found it to be Murray in ANNOYING mode (ala Man Who Knew Too Little).
Top 5 Bill Murray, in no particular order:
Groundhog Day Lost in Translation Rushmore Scrooged Ed Wood and Tootsie (tied as they are both supporting roles)
Haven't seen LIFE AQUATIC (hopefully tomorrow night) and I do have a special place in my heart for MAD DOG AND GLORY because, despite the myriad of problems I have with the movie, I ultimately liked it and esepcially Murray a lot, and the scene where he's beating the crap out of DeNiro made me believe that Murray could, indeed, beat the crap out of DeNiro.
