I love the quote from Ryan Reynolds about Blade 3 when asked about working with Wesley Snipes -- he says he never worked with Wes, just Blade.
Every anecdote paints that man a nutcase.
A place to talk about movies--Old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

I'm just sad that he seems to have given up on any attempts at non-action roles. He was doing a good balancing act ala Denzel of alternating serious dramatic roles with straight-up action roles for a while there, but it looks like those days are over.
My favorite "mess with the stereotype" part of New Jack City was Ice-T as a cop. Little did we know, back then, that he was embarking on a long career of playing cops; clearly, he found the uniform so fetching in the video for "Fuck The Police" that he decided to wear it always.
Also, there was skinny young Chris Rock! As a baby crack addict!

Uh, that was Ice Cube. Ice T was Cop Killer.
Wait, wasn't that Vanilla Ice?
Could've been Ice Cold.
Or one of the Wonder Twins: "Form of.... an Ice Rapper!"
You're right: "Fuck the Police" vs. "Cop Killer". Same theme, two guys with Ice in their names. But it was Ice-T who put on the uniform in the video. (What was the name of his metal band? Something with "death" in it, right?)
Although, considering Ice Cube has gone and made, like, warm-and-fuzzy farces with children and mayhem, I think that somebody put Valium into the water supply for the L.A. basin in the middle 1990s.
Hm. Notable roles for the Ices.
Ice-T:
Johnny Mnemonic
Tank Girl
Frankenpenis
Leprechaun in the Hood
Law and Order: SVU
3000 Miles to Graceland
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
Ice Cube:

Three Kings
Next Friday
John Carpenter's Crappyass Ghosts of Mars
Barbershop
Friday After Next
Torque
Barbershop 2
The Friday After That
Maybe Saturday, This Time

I would guess the combination of getting rich, being a parent, and generally growing up would tend to make anyone less of a thug.
