I just saw Bubba Ho-Tep. I did not enjoy it very much, except for some of Ossie Davis's scenes. I'm glad that other people were responsible for the rental fees.

Buffista Movies 3: Panned and Scanned
A place to talk about movies--Old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Bubba Ho-Tep was quite... bizarre. I saw it in the theater and was all WTF up until some ridiculous point in the movie when I kind of gave over to it. I ended up laughing my ass off and enjoying it. It's quite a strange film.

Oh jeez - I mean what a dis to Bruce Campbell. He's one of the best Elvises I've ever seen. However, I will admit it's a VERY odd duck of a movie, and probably not for everyone.
And, yes, Ossie was wonderful too.

Pretty much the best way to go. The "power walk" near the end is one of the funniest, yet most touching, things I've ever seen.
I imagine watching Hero on a very small screen really worked against the beauty of the movie. Oh well.
However, last night I watched The Station Agent, and absolutely loved it. Bobby Cannavale, who played Joe, reminded me a LOT of a guy I used to know.
Isn't that just the loveliest film?
Oh, I adore The Station Agent, Alicia. Simply a marvelous little movie. Peter Dinklage is quite splendid.
Chiming in to add love for The Station Agent. So great and it has Patricia Clarkson, one of my faves. Speaking of which, I watched High Art again last night. PC is so wonderful in it.
The Station Agent was my favorite movie last year. Amazingly good, and not an explosion or soap opera plot to be found anywhere.

I was very convincing in that sex scene with Radha Mitchell, huh?
