Buffista Movies 3: Panned and Scanned
A place to talk about movies--Old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
This is so beside the point. I mean, the Phantom is supposed to be hot and disturbing, not just vanilla hot. And apparently they wimped out big-time on the repulsive makeup.
Dude, the Phantom is HAWT! That made up for a lot of the badness of the movie, which I saw yesterday.
I'm *hoping* it will be a gloriously cheesy, over-the-top trainwreck. With gorgeous costumes.
You won't be disappointed. I liked the play. Christine drove me more batty in the movie, however. But, see the above mentioned hotness made up for it (almost).
Is anyone but me excited about seeing Bad Education? Ah well.
My bro and I are going to see Fat Albert, probably on Christmas Day, after the family foodfest. We're big dorks.
Theodosia--I am.

Saw it a couple of weeks ago. Tons of fun. Gael Garcia Bernal = GUH. Twisty storytelling from Pedro Almovodar = double-GUH.
Yahoo has a trailer for Kingdom of Heaven -- you know where Orlando Bloom plays a blacksmith who doesn't become a pirate.
very much looking forward to Bad Education, but I suspect I will have to wait for the DVD.

But still knows how to swordfight, apparently.
I'll probably see it, because swordfighting and knights and stuff. But I have to wonder about the wisdom of doing a movie about one of the Crusades while we're at war in the Middle East.
