A place to talk about movies--Old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Janey come latelies.
Harrumph.
You want Blackadder I with his historically-accurate haircut? Be. My. Guest.
No, but I will take him in Not The Nine O'Clock News and Secret Policeman's Ball, thankee very much.

Aaah. He cleans up well.
Ah, Blackadder. Hmm. I could get Blackadder on dvd...
I totally just saw ELF! And it was so totally cute!
Aaah. He cleans up well.
Yeah. But I think stark contrast is helping him a lot there. It's not so much that he's Jude Law-hot in Blackadder II, it's that he's reasonably goodlooking in a normal way and well-dressed there and he's been rumpled and slimily repulsive in a lot of stuff before and since.
I read Natalie Portman's ranking as meaning that she is currently seen as a post-teen starlet, like SMG, but should go for more edgy material, like Parker. Which is confusing, because that seems to be what she is doing already anyhow. Buy I don't think it means "she should be less famous" so much as "she needs a different kind of fame."
Plus, the "three-named-Sarahs sound cool together" factor was probably in there somewhere.
I agree that Portman is very, very beautiful. I'm not sure I'd say she's so beautiful she takes you out of the material, compared to other movie actresses.
