A place to talk about movies--Old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Illuminati, of course.
How can they not be there?
Would Ed Wood count as a biopic? If so, it was a great one, and I'd say that despite Depp being wonderful in the title role, it was Martin Landau's performance that set the movie screens on fire. But even Sarah Jessica Parker was very, very good in that film.
Several radio stations here are using the "bi-ah-pic" mispronunciation. I feel like asking them if they think it's the Six Million Dollar Movie.
Are Illuminati related to the Freemasons and/or the Knights Templar? I always get these secret societies mixed up. They are all, like, international finances and secret rings and goat sacrifice. Who could keep it all straight?
Yes! That's the wonderful thing! All of the European mystic societies claim to be derived from each other. It's great fun. Read Foucalt's Pendulum.
I think all secret societies are secretly the same society. The Head Secret Guy of all the societies pits them against each other to make it look to the rest of the world like the secret societies are not in league, when really they are.
Actually I think the Illuminati are supposed to be Papal spies; Templars are supposed to be attempting to rule the world and/or bring about its end, and may have a deep-seated hatred of the Pope; and Freemasons just wear fuzzy antlers on their heads and get together on Tuesdays to watch the Andy Griffith Show and play pinochle.
I canna explain the Shriners.
What's the current one that has suspicious hush-hush conferences attended by all the high muckey-mucks of various governments? Bilderberg, or something like that?

Trilateral Commission?
Read Foucalt's Pendulum.
I read it, like, 15 years ago, and can no longer remember anything about the plot. (Frankly, I couldn't figure out what the hell I just read even then. It was entertaining though.) Except for the part where someone proclaimed that the Templars were all into Hot Gay Lovin' on account of riding the horses pressed against each other and stuff. That cracked me up.
I canna explain the Shriners.
Fezzes and go-carts - what's to explain? I think they're the last bastion of the surrealists.
Shriners are a branch of Masons. Wouldn't it be Elks wearing the antlers?
