Cool. I will probably have to leave your ticket at willcall, but we can work that out.
Buffista Movies 3: Panned and Scanned
A place to talk about movies--Old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
MM's gonna LOOOOOOVE it like a thing he LOOOOOVES.
Well, duh, not only superheroes but it's by Brad Bird who did The Iron Giant.
Psyched about it.
Watched one of my favorite exotic/bleak film noirs last night The Shanghai Gesture. It's based on a stage play, and shows it, but Von Sternberg also gives it a glamorous Pit Of Hell vibe. Gene Tierney is ridiculously beautiful and corrupted before your eyes. Madame Gin Sling is supposed to be an ultimo Dragon Lady - and she is - but she's also an extremely compelling figure.
The most annoying thing about the Star Wars movies is the fact that the people they get to make the trailers are so much better at their craft than George Lucas.
The new Episode 3 trailer is actually quite interesting. Mostly because it consists primarily of Alec Guinness talking and Darth Vader breathing, both things that resonate deep in my Good Scienc Fiction Movies heart.
I'm in the mood to go to the movies tonight--do I go see Ray, Alfie, or The Incredibles?
The Incredibles. Give it up for Pixar.
I'm heading off to see Finding Neverland. Has anyone seen it yet? Good? Bad? Indifferent?
Very good, if you like movies where Johnny Depp looks painfully gorgeous and will make you cry.

Weirdly enough, I do like movies where Johnny Depp looks painfully gorgeous and makes me cry.
Good-oh. I'll bring the tissues then.
do I go see Ray, Alfie, or The Incredibles?
Of these, I've only seen Incredibles, but it was absolutely amazing, so I strongly recommend it.
Best chick flicks of all time, where "chick flicks" seems to be defined more as something containing the phrase "female empowerment." Catwoman is nowhere to be found.
