Buffista Movies 3: Panned and Scanned
A place to talk about movies--Old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Huh. Thanks ita.
For an oldie-but-goodie horror spoof, I remember liking Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein, with appearances by Dracula and the Wolf Man, IIRC. I remember seeing it when I was in junior high and giggling pretty much nonstop. It might be less funny now, though.
Hah! I just downloaded this movie via Bittorrent. It hasn't been released on DVD in Oz and I haven't seen it on the teev for donkey's years, so it was nice to revisit it. I went off most Abbot & Costello movies years ago but I thought this flick was still funny.
I should mention that I saw Incredibles yesterday, and enjoyed the hell out of it, which was something of a feat as the election and some discussions I've had about the state of the entertainment industry today (that it's doors areclosed, and I won't be able to get in) has really robbed the joy of going to see movies for me.
Which means Pixar has another mega-hit on its hands.
I'm looking forward to it. I saw I Heart Huckabees the other night and loved the hell out of it. That's the most use my philosophy degree has gotten in years.
We see The Incredibles on the 14th!!
MM's gonna LOOOOOOVE it like a thing he LOOOOOVES.
For the past week, every time I haven't been near tears over the election, I've been singing "Incredibles incredibles incredibles incredibles!" to the tune of "Spectacular Spectacular" (which I know had a real name predating Moulin Rouge, but I can't remember it at the moment).
The Can-Can song, right?
Jacques Offenbach's "Can Can" from "Gaite Parisienne". So. Much. Fun.
