What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

it's STILL a fantastically directed, written, and acted film.

I thought Jack Nicholson's performance was overrated. He went from zero to crazy in two seconds. There was no nuance.

Hey. New board.

Are you sure we watched the same movie?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

all work and no play makes Polter-Cow a dull boy...

Have you read the book? That could be it.

Hey. New board.

No, I haven't. I hear the book is pretty different. And scarier. Stephen King's writing style makes me want to kill, though, (at least, it did in The Green Mile and The Gunslinger, which I supposedly was going to love) so I don't really intend to try it.

I have a plan.

From what I hear, the book and movie are very different. Still a good movie though.

If you want to see a more faithful adaptation of The Shining, I am led to understand that you should see the TV miniseries version, starring Steven Weber (from Wings) and Rebecca DeMornay.

Sean, you have been led correctly. I really liked that version.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Unfortunately, it lives up to the curse of every King adaptation that King gets creative control over sucking the big one. Kubrick's version wasn't very faithful, but it was heads and shoulders over the newer one.
