To commemorate a past event, you kill and eat an animal. It's a ritual sacrifice, with pie.

I have a plan.

I still don't follow you.

Yeah, I guess I started to get vague at some point in that. I kinda lost my train of thought when the computer crashed on me. Sorry about that. I've lost it and I have to go find a job now. That's my task for today.

Tangent:

Who does your husband write for?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Now I'm lost and have to go find a job.

Pffft, job shmob. Like paying for food and rent takes precendence over talking about movies on the internet.

DH mostly writes for TV Guide and Film Journal International. (His Grudge review, which I suppose after all that I should link to, is here. )

If I only had a brain...

Yes, I have a childish sense of humor. Minor Star Wars Revenge of the Clones spoiler: According to Ain't It Cool News, Yoda farts. This in itself isn't funny, but some of the AICN responses to it are. "It's like a thousand asses screamed out in terror, and suddenly silenced" "Much Taco Bell eaten I have!" "Yes, but...does Yoda poot first?" "The... force... is strong with this one."

If I could get paid for it then I'd be set for life. And see a lot more movies, since I could afford them. But alas alak such is not the fortune I have. It's good talking to you. Ciao.

Uncertainty could be our guiding light.

I watched Wall Street last night. It was ... okay. Several observations:

1) It's pretty dated, which isn't much of a surprise.

2) Darryl Hannah is awful. Why does she get work? (But I did like her in movies that have "Kill" and "Bill" in the title.)

3) What did Charlie Sheen think would happen when he set out to take down Gekko? That he wouldn't be called to task on his own wrong-doings? Sheesh.

4) I did think Michael Douglas was very good.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Darryl Hannah is awful. Why does she get work?

She makes a good mermaid?

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I heard a comedienne do a funny riff on her once, asking if she was the daughter of a studio head.

Generally speaking, things have gone about as far as they can possibly go, when things have gotten about as bad as they can reasonably get.

It was Paula Poundstone: "What is Darryl Hanna doing in a film? Does her dad own a studio or something? She is the worst piece of shit actress I’ve ever seen in my life. She’s painfully, wretchedly, horribly bad. And people say, well she’s pretty. And I agree that she’s pretty, I think she’s beautiful, but couldn’t we just have a picture of her in the upper corner of the screen? Does she have to try to move and talk like that? Because I think those are the two problem areas for her, the moving and the talking. Without that she’s golden. Cause she hasn't really played a human being that many times if you think about it. What did she do? Splash, Blade Runner, and Clan of the Cave Bear. So she's played a fish, a robot, and a missing link. I'm willing to bet you she was best in Clan of the Cave Bear."
